Soldes! Soldes! Soldes!

The French know how to have a sale! Damn! Yesterday was the first day of the "Sales"... one month of government mandated retail sales. So, I ventured out to see what all of the commotion was about. Everyone has told me about these sales and they definitely lived up to the hype.

It was like Christmas shopping to the extreme...very intense, competitive shoppers. They should have been playing the Nike "My better is better than your better" commercial in the stores (my favorite commercial). That commercial comes to mind all of the time when I'm out and about and notice any type of competitive situation. Its funny...try it.

I actually had my iPod on me and listened to the "List of Demands" song (from the commercial) as I was walking through H&M...really funny. I've always been pretty good at finding the humor in situations, and I've really been entertaining myself lately =)

When I used to travel every week for PwC, I used to listen to Willi Nelson's "On the Road Again" when I'd get on the plane at O'Hare to start a week...I traveled for a long time and I did this and always had a good laugh to myself. And then when I'd work late in my hotel room, I'd listen to Dolly Parton's "working 9 to 5" but I'd always say working 9 to 9. I am such a geek...but just writing it, reminds how funny I still think that is. =)
