...like that really impacts me.
Anyway, yesterday was somewhat uneventful. We're thinking through weekend trips and places that we'd like to see while we're here. We went to a bar yesterday afternoon to watch the soccer match (Spain won.) Sorry Jeff - no Russia v. Germany for Poland match. =)
Ok, since I don't have much to talk about...I thought I'd list some things that I've learned while I've been in Paris (a whole 2 weeks):
1. Bordeaux. Just because it's from Bordeaux doesn't mean its good. If you're ordering Bordeaux, get a bottle from Medoc or St Emilion that's at least a few years old. (I've never known how to buy or order a Bordeaux.)
2. Butter makes everything taste good. At home, I never fry things and I've probably never used an entire stick butter in five years...but I don't have the luxury of a steamer or grill, so I have to make due. They also don't have Pam spray. (That was a fun afternoon at the grocery store when I was trying to ask the grocery store person about Pam and act out what Pam is/does...its one big game of charades here)...my conclusion is that they don't have it. Anyway, butter is yummy - try it, you'll be happy.
3. I will kick your ass at the next game night. That's right. Per point number 2, I'm exercising all of my charade/word skills and I'm getting really good. That's it - just wanted to let you know.
4. Learn French via MTV's "Date My Mom". They love that show here....it plays over and over on MTV (which is one of only a few channels that we have.) I've never even watched that show until I moved here...and its the American version dubbed over in French and its very easy to follow because its the exact same format for each show. (two crazy moms and a regular mom)
5. NYC could learn a thing or two from Paris on how to handle trash. I think the trash situation in NYC is the biggest downfall of the city. I hate schlepping through trash in my heels in NY. Here, all of the trash goes in tidy bins, where its kept inside buildings until the particular time of day that the garbage trucks come by. Its a very good system.

Leah - look forward to french wine, game night, cheese and chocolate when y'all come back. Let us know if we should ship over some salsa, queso, and brisket to balance the influence.
Also, look out for my wife's passport taken by pick-pocketers a few years ago (they are good)...maybe ask the kids sitting in front of your apartment.
Hi Leah, you're right we don't have pan spray here. First time I saw one of my Evanston roommate spray some, I was totally shocked!! We use butter or oil (olive oil makes things even yummier!)
when do we see each other?
