About Me...

I finally wrote my About Me Page...

I am an American expat living in Paris, France. Technically, I live in Dallas, Texas and I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky (which is still home for me.) I’ve also lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Chicago, Illinois.

I am a consultant for a big four Accounting Firm…and no, I’m not an auditor and I won’t give you tax advice. One co-worker describes his job to people as “I read your e-mail” (I think that’s funny). If you ever want to know more about what I do, just ask me, I love talking about it.

I’m married to Clint, who I met in high school. We generally don’t publicly profess that little fact because there’s a bit of a stigma attached to that. Clint is also a consultant, but instead of reading your e-mails, he does more strategic level stuff.

Clint and I both really enjoy collecting, counting, and using hotel and airline points. I still remember the day I made Platinum on Starwood…and Clint enjoys telling me how close he is to making Executive Platinum on American. As a result, I’m a bit of a hotel snob, but fortunately we’ve acquired enough points to support our snobbery (for now).

My biggest goal in life is to be well-rounded.

My biggest pet peeve is grown women who baby talk. I can’t take you seriously.

I love reading, but I have a very short attention span for movies…and I hate sad movies; long movies; movies that don’t have an ending; movies that don’t make sense for the first ½ hour; love stories and war stories. Basically, I only like average to short length comedies and action films. I’ve also been known to fall asleep in the movie theatre and to leave if I don’t like the movie.

I enjoy Friday happy hour(s).

I have an opinion on everything. I’m a leftie liberal and proud of it! I was an “Obama for president” fan before he was even running for president.

I’m a news junkie. I read the WSJ religiously and I’m addicted to current event news.

I work the yahoo crossword puzzle almost every day. I’m aware that this makes me sound old.

My favorite weekend outfit is a black turtleneck, blue jeans, and black boots. I’ve been wearing this ensemble since college.

I love meeting interesting and weird people.

I’m still a huge advocate for greek life in college. I had a great experience being in a sorority: some of my best memories, best growing experiences, and best friends came from being involved in greek life. I don’t think people hear enough of the positives.

I love SNL, but I like to watch it on Sunday mornings – thank you Tivo!

I’m not a very emotional individual. I rarely cry because I hate crying.

I love eating out. I consider it a hobby. Nothing I cook at home ever tastes as good. I don’t generally like super expensive restaurants. I love to find a hole in the wall restaurant with great food.
